Selected Representations:

  • Defended the individual members of a school board against claims by a discharged school superintendent of denial of substantive and procedural due process. The jury found in favor of the school board members, resulting in a take nothing verdict.
  • Defended a municipality against claims of discrimination by a city employee. The jury found in favor of the client,  resulting in a take nothing judgment. The case was tried in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas before Judge Joe J. Fisher.
  • Defended a municipality against claims of discrimination by a city employee. The case was tried to a jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas before Judge John Hannah.
  • Defended an international paper company against employee discrimination allegations. After filing a motion for summary judgment and shortly before trial, the case settled for a fraction of the amount of the alleged damages. The case was pending in the United States District court for the Eastern District of Texas before Judge Richard Schell.
  • Defended a Texas county against allegations of discrimination. The court granted the county summary judgment. The case was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
  • Defended a county and its sheriff against claims of sexual harassment by a sheriff department employee. The case settled for a fraction of the amount claimed after the allegations were proven to be false. The case was pending in the District Court of Sabine County before Judge Joe Bob Golden.
